Breakthrough Experience by Dr John Demartini
A Revolutionary New Approach to Personal Transformation I was fortunate to see this guy speak at a seminar recently. He was featured in the hit movie "The Secret" and seems (to me at least) to be the closest thing around currently, to the ideas and teachings of Napoleon Hill. The Breakthrough concept offers some interesting food for thought, some exciting concepts and messages that might just be YOUR wake-up call.

Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill
This is a personal development classic, written in the 1930s it is surprisingly relevant, even in the 21st century. I avoided reading this book for ages, simply because it didn’t sound like the sort of thing I would enjoy/appreciate. I am glad that I was eventually persuaded (by a string of coincidences) to read it. Hint: It will take several readings to absorb the information, and simply reading the book will provide no benefit whatsoever; you have to take the key ideas on board and make them part of your life.

Life After The Cubicle by Justin Wright
This delightful ebook is an enjoyable mix of autobiography and good solid advice on breaking free of the 9-to-5. I was stunned at how many of Justin’s motivations, views and opinions resonated with me, and found the telling of his own story strangely compelling and motivating. Worth every cent in my opinion.

Losing My Virginity by Richard Branson I don’t think it matters how many times you read this book, you always wind up feeling energised, motivated and inspired. I grew up admiring Richard Branson (I always remember that he took British Airways to court and won) and there’s something about his books that keep saying “you can do it too”. |

Zen to Done by Leo BabautaGetting/being organised was/is my personal achilles heel. I then stumbled on something called Getting Things Done, it sounded great, yet somehow it was all a bit too complicated. Two great things happened – I discovered ZenHabits.net and the e-book Zen To Done, which is a simplified version of the GTD system.
Gotta love simple… |

ReWork by 37 Signals The 37 Signals approach to developing web software is MY approach to developing web software. Even better, the 37 Signals (non-conventional) attitude to starting a small business reflects many of my own views. If you want to read a different type of business book, one that can offer you a vision of the future without the usual business BS… then this might just be it! |

Exposed by Mal Emery Now this book won’t be to everyone’s tastes, however I love reading and listening the stuff this Perth-based marketer puts out. He’s got opinions, he speaks his mind, and I find his stuff curiously motivating. His monthly interview CDs are pretty handy too. |
